Victims of Crime and Abuse

VICTIM COMPENSATION BOARD


You are eligible for state funded therapies if:

~you were a victim of a crime and you proceeded with a police report. 

~you were a victim of child abuse and there was a substantiated child protective service report


CalVCB is the payor of last resort. CalVCB provides compensation after all available reimbursement and recovery sources are used, including medical insurance, disability insurance, employer benefits and civil suits.

CalVCB offers several ways to apply for compensation:


Advocates are available to help victims with:

~Complete an application.

~Find emergency food, clothing, and shelter.

~File a temporary restraining order.

~Find other resources.

They support positive outcomes through outreach, services, activities, and resources.

They are Northern California's premier nonprofit organization providing comprehensive social services to nurture and protect autistic and other mentally-diverse youth, and their families.

MIND INSTITUTE

The UC Davis MIND Institute clinic provides comprehensive evidence-based assessments of children with possible neurodevelopmental disorders. The clinic providers give treatment recommendations to referring schools, agencies, physicians, and mental health clinicians.
